Envista’s Software as a Service helps coordinate the planning of infrastructure construction and repair projects

Appleton, WI – October 20, 2008– NAVTEQ, a leading global provider of digital map data for vehicle navigation and location-based solutions, has been chosen by Envista Corporation, to supply map data for their Software as a Service location-based application that enables infrastructure project coordination among utilities and government agencies. American Digital Cartography, Inc. (ADCi), a leading authorized distributor of NAVTEQ map data, supplied Envista with NAVTEQ data that included unique custom views of roadways, backgrounds and labels for use in the Software as a Service solution.

Envista’s application helps to coordinate projects such as gas, water, sewer and roadway construction and maintenance. By coordinating projects among diverse organizations, key stakeholders can identify “dig once” opportunities where joint work can be planned in order to realize cost savings and decrease traffic congestion.

A critical component of the application is NAVTEQ map data, which is used to geo-locate addresses and display project locations and backgrounds.
