Idaho Power Company Licenses NAVTEQ Data for GIS Applications

License Agreement through ADCi Allows for 600 Internal Desktop and Mobile Users

Appleton, WI – August 28, 2007 – NAVTEQ (NYSE: NVT) , a leading global provider of digital map data for location-based solutions and vehicle navigation, has been selected by Idaho Power Company, Boise, Idaho, to serve as the primary transportation layer for use in its desktop and mobile GIS applications. NAVTEQ® map data was licensed through American Digital Cartography, Inc. (ADCi), Appleton, Wisconsin. NAVTEQ data can support the utility’s GIS applications by providing background reference for outage management and the design of electrical facilities, routing service personnel, drive time determination, and other network analyses.

By utilizing NAVTEQ data, Idaho Power expects to derive actionable information about its land-based assets throughout its service territory to make critical decisions about the efficient deployment and use of those assets. Idaho Power anticipates using this location intelligence, supplied from the NAVTEQ database, to help drive day-to-day operational efficiencies.

“Idaho Power requires an accurate, up-to-date street network with routing capabilities for its GIS land base,” commented Frank Mynar, GIS applications leader, Idaho Power Company. “Because much of our region is rural, it has historically not received much attention in national databases. By establishing a field office in Boise, NAVTEQ has demonstrated a commitment to improving the spatial and temporal quality of its data in our service area.”

“It is our commitment to provide Idaho Power Company with both the NAVTEQ data to match their geographic area of interest, which includes 35 contiguous counties, and also with outstanding customer service,” said Jim Reid, president, ADCi.

“We appreciate the individualized attention from ADCi”, commented Mynar. “They were able to identify licensing to meet the needs of our office and field personnel, and the various GIS software applications through which users will be viewing the data.”

“NAVTEQ is committed to expanding coverage to ensure the best customer experience for utility customers in both metropolitan and rural areas,” stated Roy Kolstad, vice president and general manager – Enterprise, NAVTEQ. “In working with resellers like ADCi, we are able to focus on our core competence of developing the NAVTEQ map database to provide the most accurate and reliable road network coverage.
