ADCi Provides HopStop.com with NAVTEQ® Data

Innovative Website provides Subway, Bus and Walking Directions

Appleton, WI – July 11, 2006 – American Digital Cartography, Inc. (ADCi), a leading authorized distributor for NAVTEQ has licensed NAVTEQ street map data to HopStop.com, a New York based company, that provides door-to-door directions to major U.S. city residents and tourists via public transportation systems. The agreement between HopStop and ADCi allows HopStop to use NAVTEQ data within HopStop’s Web Site and Web Services for the purpose of allowing users to obtain subway, bus and walking directions.

“The company is building the first national network to facilitate inter-city and intra-city travel using mass transit systems,” says Chinedu Echeruo, CEO, HopStop.

HopStop’s services are currently available in New York City, Boston, San Francisco and Washington D.C. with future plans to include Philadelphia, Chicago, Atlanta, Maryland, New Jersey and Long Island, NY.

HopStop, which began operations in 2004, and previously relied on another data set for its application, recently upgraded to NAVTEQ because of the strength of the data. “We are very happy with the quality and accuracy of NAVTEQ’s data,” states Mr. Echeruo. “Since many of our business partners also use NAVTEQ data, we’ve found it easier to integrate our technology and data to other leading businesses in the location based services industry.”

Echeruo was also impressed with the commitment to customer service provided by ADCi. “During the evaluation phase, ADCi provided us with everything we needed to make informed decisions regarding the selection of our data provider,” he said. “Their commitment to HopStop as a customer mirrored the service we want to provide to our customers. It felt like a very natural fit.”

HopStop recently added the ability to provide mass-transit directions or locations of nearby subway and bus stops remotely on a cell phone or PDA. HopStop’s XML web service also allows businesses to seamlessly embed mass-transit maps and routing into their own websites or application.

NAVTEQ employs one of the industry’s most comprehensive development and quality control programs for the highest levels of quality and precision. Executed by an extensive team of over 550 field researchers, the NAVTEQ database includes detailed attributes from turn restrictions and relative road crossing heights to road segment access restrictions, one-way streets and speed categories that help optimize routing. Additionally, NAVTEQ maps include Points of Interest including restaurants, hospitals, shopping centers and leisure facilities, making it easier to locate and route to many different destinations.

“It has been exciting for ADCi to be involved in a highly creative and innovative application using NAVTEQ data”, said Jim Reid, president, ADCi. “People across the country will benefit greatly from HopStop’s services.”

“The availability of HopStop’s subway, bus and walking directions for an expanding number of markets via both server and wireless technology is a strong indicator of the growth of location-based technology,” said Roy Kolstad, vice president and general manager – Business and Government Solutions, NAVTEQ. “Together with companies like HopStop and ADCi, NAVTEQ is pleased to be providing the accurate map data to meet consumer needs.”
